Classes - Brisbane

All classes are held at the East Brisbane State School Hall, Cnr Wellington Rd., & Stanley St., East Brisbane (Entrance is off Wellington Rd.)

Introduction to Tango (Beginners One)
Wednesday evening  6.30pm - 7.30pm   NEW COURSE commences 15th September 2010

Learn how to dance Tango, and learn a little of the history of Tango. This 12 lesson course will cover the fundamentals of Tango, Milonga & Vals. Learn the Basics of Walking, Basic 8, Ochos, Ocho Cortado, Giros, Ganchos, & Calesitas.

Fundamentals 2 (Beginners Two)
Wednesday evening  7.30pm - 8.30pm.  

This  course will cover the fundamentals & techniques use for Walking, Basic 8, Ochos, Ocho Cortado, Sacadas , Giros, Ganchos, Calesitas, Floorcraft,  plus much, much more.

Tango Technique & Musicality (Intermediate One)
Wednesday evening 8.30pm - 9.30pm.  

These classes will focus on the technique to lead (Mark) / follow, posture, communication & musicality for Ochos, Voleos, Sacadas, Giros, Ganchos, Calecitas, Barridas & Adornos.

Foundation For Dancing Tango (Intermediate Two)
Monday Evening 7.00pm - 8.00pm. 

Learn to dance in the line of dance, floor craft, & rhythm. Each class will cover a sequence with lead/follow technique, musicality, & steps. Explore different entries and exits to each step with decorations and introduction to improvisation.  We also explore & teach Nuevo movements for the dance floor.

These specialtiy classes are not to be missed.  These courses will cover the the important basics  and also focus on technique, musicality and dancing skills for a busy floor (floorcraft).

Close Embrace  (Intermediate)
Thursday evening 7.30pm - 8.30pm.  

This class is for those wishing to learn tango with the close embrace hold and technique.  The classes will cover and explore the beauty and intimancy of close embrace.  Learn how to connect with your partner and be one body with 4 legs.  In these classes, we will cover posture balance, the mark of the mans torso, how the lady moves with her core/centre, walking and basic sequences.  Dancing open & close embrace and creating sequences using technique, musicality and disassociation. Focus in this class will be on individuals lead/follow technique, musicality.

Private Lessons
By appointment only.

These one-on-one classes are to consolidate your dancing skills and to refine your technique, and musicality.  Highly recommended for those who want to improve their dancing skills. These Classes are held in our Dance Studio at Alexandra Hills & West End.


Wedding Lessons. 

Add that special touch to your wedding celebration with our bridal package.  Learn to dance Tango, and dance the dance of passion on your Wedding Day.

Tango Workshop and Guided Practica (all levels)
Sunday 4.00pm - 6.00pm (1st & 3rd of each month only)  held at the Masonic Hall, 76 Nerang St., Southport. (Closed for annual holidays on 16th May, 6th & 20th JUne)

This workshop and Guided Practica is designed to work with understanding the technique of lead and follow roles.  Covering basic body technique, posture,walking and the embrace - Understanding weight transfer - Decorations - when & how to do decorations - Musicality - Forward & Backward Ochos - Voleos -Ganchos - Volcadas - Barridas, Giros and more complex figures.  The Guided Practica which follows the workshop will give you the opportunity to work through movements, steps or sequences that you have previously learnt with us or at another school, with the assistance of experienced teachers.

Private Lessons 

By appointment only. These one-on-one classes are to consolidate your dancing skills and to refine your technique, and musicality.  Highly recommended for those who want to improve their dancing skills. For all levels.  Lessons are available  in your home prior to the group class at Miami (by appointment only).  Private Lessons are also held 2nd & 4th Friday of each month at Miami (by appointment only).

Classes - Sunshine Coast

These workshops are organised by Paul of Tango de Momento, and are held at Woombye School of Arts Halll, Main St., Woombye (off Nambour Connection Rd., - Big Pineapple)

Tango - (all levels)
Sunday 8pm to 9.30pm - Next Workshop is Sunday September 12th

With the latest techniques from Buenos Aires, Argentina, these workshops focus on technique of the leader and follower, from beginner to the more advanced dancer.  We will cover a variety of steps and figures/movements for the dance floor, and teach you how to create your own dance, with knowing your opportunities to link  steps/figures together.
